CNN’s Don Lemon Spars with Mark Williams on Reaction of NAACP Crowd to Sherrod Story – Video

CNN’s Don Lemon challenged Mark Williams on his statement that there was “positive reaction” in the room when Sherrod was suggesting she thought about withholding help for a “white farmer” 24 years ago. This was before the assembled NAACP members knew the rest of her story – that she did go ahead and help the man. Lemon tells Williams there was no laughter as Sherrod told her story. He even challenges Williams to go back and look at the tape “carefully.” OK. At the end of the video above, a clip is provided that sure sounds like “laughter” when Sherrod...

Making Americans Sick

Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius promised, "The U.S. government plans to increase funding to battle obesity and views healthcare reform as an opportunity to encourage better eating habits." Rather than spending money and attacking the food industry, the secretary and others concerned with the health of Americans ought to go after the U.S. Congress. Let's look at it. According to a study by researchers at the University of California, Davis, published in the Journal of Clinical Investigation (May 2009), widespread use of fructose may be directly responsible for some of the ongoing increase in rates of childhood diabetes...

Mark Williams Controversy

Friday 30th of July 2010 02:55:50 AM
Posted by admin / Under Williams Electric Trains

Mark Williams, radio host and Tea Party Express spokesman, has been the subject of veiled CNN news “reports” (pronounced attacks) all day. This after Williams penned a fictitious letter, written so that it appeared to have been authored by Ben Jealous of the NAACP and addressed to Abraham Lincoln. Williams, trying to be funny but serious in making a point, failed to recognize that this letter could be taken the wrong way by someone who doesn’t understand his warped sense of humor. As I see it, the larger implication of this is that once again, the NAACP is flying the...

CNN) -- The National Tea Party Federation, an organization that represents the Tea Party political movement around the country, has expelled conservative commentator Mark Williams and his Tea Party Express because of an inflammatory blog post he wrote, federation spokesman David Webb said Sunday. Appearing on the CBS program "Face the Nation," Webb said that Williams and the Tea Party Express -- which has held a series of events across the country to generate support for the movement -- no longer were part of the National Tea Party Federation. "We, in the last 24 hours, have expelled Tea Party Express...

Juan Williams: Obama Has Declared War On Supreme Court

Well, in particular, Chief Justice John Roberts. Of course this should not come as a surprise to anyone. He declares war on anyone that dares disagree with him. So let’s see. Obama controls Congress, two auto companies, college loans, health care and in the process has expanded executive branch powers and now declares war on John Roberts because why? Because the young President doesn’t have total control? Doesn’t Roberts know Obama is the President

Can Black Americans Afford Obama?

Friday 30th of July 2010 02:55:50 AM
Posted by admin / Under Williams Electric Trains

My March 2008 column "Is Obama Ready for America?" started out: "Some pundits ask whether America is ready for Obama. The much more important question is whether Obama is ready for America and even more important is whether black people can afford Obama." Let's look at this. In 1947, Jackie Robinson, in signing a contract with the Brooklyn Dodgers, broke the color bar in Major League Baseball. In 1950, three blacks broke the color bar in the National Basketball Association (NBA): Earl Lloyd (Washington Capitals), Chuck Cooper (Boston Celtics) and Nat "Sweetwater" Clifton (New York Knicks). Their highly successful performances...

TORONTO—As Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip waved to the crowd after a 2005 visit, a tall, fit officer stood next to them. He saluted the royal couple, and flew them home to Britain. Now that same elite Canadian pilot, Colonel Russell Williams, stands charged with the murder of two women, the sexual assault of two others and 82 break-ins, during which he often stole women's panties.

Why So Hostile To Principles Of Liberty?

Friday 30th of July 2010 02:55:50 AM
Posted by admin / Under Williams Electric Trains

Having recently reached 74 years of age, if one were to ask me what's my greatest disappointment in life, a top contender would surely be the level of misunderstanding, perhaps contempt, that black Americans have for the principles of personal liberty and their abiding faith in government. Contempt or misunderstanding of the principles of personal liberty and faith in government by no means make blacks unique among Americans. But the unique history of black Americans should make us, above all other Americans, most suspicious of any encroachment on personal liberty and most distrustful of government. Let's look at it. The...

PA Dem Williams Tests 'Think Outside the Jack in the Box' Slogan (satire)

Unaware that the phrase "think outside of the box" has been a cliche for 20 years, Democratic governor hopeful, Anthony Williams is testing a new slogan. The Williams campaign is featuring new ads with the slogan, "think outside the Jack in the Box." All the ads feature Williams standing in front of a Jack in the Box restaurant. Although, his considerable girth hides much of the restaurant.
